Voting or not voting.....

Voting is not the only way to express your opinion about politics and your country reality, there exist other ways to do that. Since 2001 the students have made a strong campaign to have a good education,  with marches and different kind of protests showing they want better public politics and equality, and of course, a free and quality education , even that, the politician have always said the young people is not interested in politics, they don’t care the future of our country. They say that just because the most young people don’t vote, but the problem is they don’t listen us, they do whatever they want and not what we need. It means, the government will never make the changes we need and we want,  that has to be done from inside the system, that’s why I think we have the power to change our country in our hands, we can to work for a best country, for a quality lifestyle, and that calls “poder popular” (popular power), we can to do that with our family and neighborhood, and if we don’t have a representative candidate, we have two choices, a void vote or propose a candidate.

 

In the actual presidential campaign, we have a historical situation, 9 candidates, and we always had two! With that on mind, we can to imagine there is a diversity of ideology and government programs, so, we can’t say this time, we don’t feel represented by anybody. Many people want to change the actual economic system to can change the social reality, so, we all have to vote to make it real.  Also, we all should to have some considerations and know how difficult was to take back the democracy, so, I think that giving my vote I’m exercising my rights.

About the campaigns, to be honest, I think are really poor, the most candidates don’t say anything, they only have a jingle and pretty people smiling like if the real life would be so nice and easy. That demonstrate the people who are candidates, the most of them are corrupt persons, and they should to be in jail, we can’t have that kind of people in public charges, because a president has to be an honest person, who wants to work for the people and the country, not for the money or the power, and obviously, that person musts to have knowledge about politics.

Finally, the campaigns in my district are horrible, because the posters in the street are disturbance, and contamination, they think that with a poster behind other we are going to vote for them, instead that they should to make informative campaigns showing to the people what they want to do, not only a poster with a smiling face, and using arguments so stupid like “I live here, so, vote for me”.  And honestly, I would like to be a politician, because I would really represent to the people, not a politic or economic group, and I would like to be “the voice of who don’t have a voice”, the poor people, the animals, the indigenous people, etc.  and of course, I would not make that kind of campaign, I would like to do something so creative like the Giorgio Jackson’s campaign (they don contaminate with posters, they use a stencil to mark his name in dirty streets and walls).

A burial talking: it's science, not magic

This article is about a recently find, an england king from the XV century suffered a common infection of the medieval age and currently.

Between 1483 and 1485 in England was a King called Richard III, the most famous king in the medieval age (thanks to Shakespeare). The Archaeologists from University of Leicester found the human remains from Richard III last year under a parking site, that used to be part of the church in that city.

How did the researchers discover this? Well, the archaeologist from Cambridge University studied the soil extracted from the pelvis and cranium section.

What did they find? A lot of roundworm eggs in the pelvis soil. The roundworms are intestinal parasites that attack principally the lungs, but they grow up in the intestines. There is no reason to think that the eggs came from another stratus (superior stratus) because they didn't find eggs in the cranium soil.

Just like the most paleopathological researches, we can to relate the findings with the lifestyle, and Richard III probably eaten cooked meat (completely cooked), that because they didn't find another kind of parasites typical from edible animals, only the roundworms, in adition, his noble status didn't save him from this infection.

This article shows the amaizing results we can getting with paleopathological  studies, I mean, they were capable to discover these parasite eggs in the 500 years soil and relate it with what he eaten.

I love Guatemala

I would like to comeback to Guatemala, I went there about a month ago, and a fall in love from that country and the people. Guatemala is a country with about a 70% of indigenous people, and it’s very poor, they have a big rate of undernourishment, illiteracy and crimes. Even that, they have many things more advanced than us, an example is the university education, they have a state university called “Universidad San Marcos”, the oldest University in Latin America and it’s free, they only pay a registration ($80 Quetzales) it’s about US$13. I could to know just a couple of places the last time I was there, and I know there are a lot of beautiful places, so, I would like to know archaeological places like “Tikal” and its giants Mayan pyramids, the Atitlán lake and the villages and volcanoes around it, the craniums with jade teeth in the archaeological museum and the famous Mayan city “Kaminaljuyú”. But I actually would like to live and work there, because they have the FAFG (Fundación de Antropología Forense de Guatemala), a foundation with really good technology and resources to investigate the cases of violence in the armed conflict of that country, and as I want to dedicate my life to work in cases of violation of Human rights, there is the perfect place to do that and learn a lot, also the people who works in the foundation is great, they are like a family, and everybody love what they do in spite that their life are in danger (because the people who participated in the dictatorship are still in the government and they have the politic and economic control, and many power in the country).

Dreams

      We all have dreams; we want different things for the future in our life, and whatever you want, it’s always something very difficult, but not impossible to obtain…there is sometimes, that we can’t achieving our purpose and the planes that we had change, and that make us go in other way. Well, that’s what happened to me, I always wanted study Medicine, to be a doctor, from I’m five years old I dreamed with help people curing them and changing the kind of relationship between doctor and patient, and so many things that I’ll never can to do…I still want studying Medicine, maybe someday…

      In spite, I found a wonderful degree called Biological Anthropology, and I really love it, it has everything that I like in Medicine: subjects like Anatomy, physiology, Genetics, Chemistry. Also we have things very interesting like Archaeology and Prehistory, and of course, specific subjects from our carrier where we learn everything about the Human skeletal Physiognomy.

      In the future I want to study in Cambridge or some Spanish University to obtain a Ph D in Forensic Anthropology, then come back to my country and be teacher on this University because that’s one thing that I love, teach, even now I make particular sciences classes to children and I really enjoy it!

Fuck Tonsillitis!!

Well, I’m not too creative today, so I’ll write about my week shared whit tonsillitis.
Everything started a week ago, that Thursday in the morning I was on class, like always, and I didn’t feel nice, so I decided to return home; I was in bed all day.

Can you believe that I past all the weekend on bed? Yes! I lost a wonderful public holiday! I had planes to go Fantasilandia with my boyfriend, the Saturday we would go the cinema to see “Alice” in 3D, them, the Sunday some friends and us would go to bowling!...oh! it was so unfair!
Have you happened that with tonsillitis you can’t eat anything too hot, or too cold, something too hard because your throat hurts so much; you even have a low tone of voice like “The godfather”!
The nice thing is that my mom and dad were caring for me all those days, and my boyfriend did it to, he was in my home all the weekend; they spoiled me so much.

In spite of all the discomfort of these disease (than I hate), is great when my family is worried about me, and try to make me feel the best possible.

The black holes

These things were discovered by a very special scientist, a physic scientist named Stephen Hawkins, the different thing is that the only parts of his body that he cans moving are his eyes and one finger. He cans to talk through a computer operated with the only finger that he cans to move.
In the ’80 he published an article about these things, the “the black holes”, a big volume of mass in middle of the universe in a little area making it very dense. The black holes characteristics are that the particles in side it are moving in light velocity, making them travel on the time, and every particle that be close form the black hole would be absorbed, but, if any particle could to stay around this, that particle would travel on the time though a warm tunnel and arrive in the same place in a future or past time…now, here we have what he calls “the crazy scientist paradox”, an explanation very simple about why we still don’t have a time machine: a scientist has a time machine, and he wants to travel 5 minutes in the past and kills himself to prove his theory, now, assuming that he travels in the time, and he kills himself, How is he going to travel to the past if he is death in that moment, therefore he can’t to travel to a past time to killing himself?

My idols

I could talk to you about many people that I admire, like Stephen Hawkins, Einstein, Elena Caffarena, Lautaro, and so many others that are great heroes, but the person I admire has not been a public person, she has not made an heroic act, she didn't save people, and she doesn't have a statue...She is my grandmother, my father's mom.

We are a modest family, when my dad was a little boy, he, my aunts and my grandmother lived in a “campamento callampa”, and my grandmother worked hard to can living better than that.

She was alone, because my grandfather died when my dad was a little boy. My grandmother “Lucha” worked as laundress, and cleaning houses, she had not holidays, neither free days, she worked hard to pay the school to all her children, all my aunts are professional and my dad to.

She managed to buy a house for her family being a laundress, that makes me be so proud of her! And she has taught me a lot of things, one of them is that we never have to forget who we are, where we came from, and who are our ancestors and we must to be proud of them, whatever they had been and made. We can being very successful and famous, but we always must to be meek.
